i need your help

 

im about to install the the smeg+ iv2 in my 2011 c4

 

do you think i have to connect wire 2 and 4 from the screen to 11 and 14 on the smeg+ iv2

Питание и минус, надо брать обязательно с колодки магнитолы, 9 и 15 пины.

Иначе экран будет работать всегда, пока машина не заснёт.

Yes that i right. But - and + from the radio i already in the conector for the original screen. Thats Why i made it like this. But i Can see i have to be more clear.

First of all congratulation to you guys, it's one of the very few post I could find on the Internet about that problem.

I want to do the same : I have a basic non-bluetooth RD5 radio (with only "AUX in" and no USB), I would like to go on a SMEG+ IV2.
I already have the SMEG+ IV2, the screen, LDVS cable, CD reader and its cable, GPS Fakra antenna, USB cable.
I even have the higher-end odometer with the dot-matrix screen inside for navigation.

I know I have to do a wire from the BSI to the white B part of the SMEG.
I understand I have to wire the red connector of the screen to pin 11 and 14 of the A part of the SMEG. Why do I have to remove pin 15 ? (it seems everyone on the Internet who wants to go from RD4 to RNEG for example says : "remove pin 15").

Hardare : What else do I need to modify on my current harness ? Add any wires ?

Software : which things I have to activate/deactivate in Diagbox when I will go to the Citroen dealer to telecode ?

I'm sorry if some of my questions are already answered in some Russian forum, but Google Translation from Russia to French isn't good at all !

In RD5 , contakt 15 is positive

In SMEG - 15 contact managing negative.

First off, all wicth car are you trying to install in,  if its a ds4 you only need to remove pin 15, or you will get a short.. and connect pin  11 and 14, thats for the touch in the screen.. power for the screen should already be in the screen connector.. feel free to write me an pm

I am not sure about the original radio if it is rd4 or rd5.

I realized from your conversations i have to remove pin 15.

I did not remove it and just connected it.

did I just damage the unit? or i can still use it?

i checked the fuse on the fuse box and on the radio. both were fine. i got the SMEG from ebay from Germany. i hope you guys can help me to fix the damage :(

I also miss ldvs cable and a cable from 3 button on top of the unit to SMEG and a cable for microphone,

I have no idea how to find these cables.

I also dont know if i have to draw a wire from BSI to SMEG. 

I appreciate your help in advance

The screen and head unit are connected.

There is no cable between them so when i put the connectorwithout remove pin no. 15 nothing happened. It was totally black.

So far I don't have the LVDS 4 pin cable.

I just connect the big black square socket coming from the car to the unit.

All my concern is if I damaged the unit! Because I did not remove pin no. 15 as you guys described and when I put the socket into the unit i could hear a spark sound!

I really do not know how to find Lvds cable. I am still looking for it on the Internet.

Hello everyone,

 

It's been almost a year now but i finally decided to go and install my SMEG+IV2 (before trying to set up a new Continental NAC WAVE2 "Citroen Connect Nav" unit which will be my next challenge ^^).

 

I finally discovered what was my original headunit : a poor RD5L1 (no USB no bluetooth). I ordered on aliexpress the chinese motherboard of the RD5L5 (thanks Drive2.ru ! ^^) but i didn't received it yet. Unfortunately the green fakra antenna connector is not for DAB as I was expecting first... I will have to order a CAN2010 RD45 from UK to get DAB (SMEG+ IV2 with DAB are far too expensive)...

 

to iman : I'm sorry but i just think you just ruined a beautiful non-nav SMEG+IV2 with DAB (I wish I could get some...).

 

SMEG+ IV2 installation in my basic DS4 :

I tried the Frankmich solution first : I didn't know the pinout of my original EMF-C 6-pin connector. So I checked with a voltage meter to get and use the power connection from my original screen. It was a failure : screen didn't turn on at all.

So I used your solution frog2050 (from pin9 and 15 of the radio to 1 and 3 of the touchscreen) and it works (partially) : screen is turning on. But the touch is not responding.

 

My 2 main concerns for the moment are :

- I have a "Multimedia system temporarily unavailable" error message : touchscreen and buttons are not working at all. I can just adjust the volume... I hope this is because i didn't realize a proper wire harness for the screen : just tied the coper part of the wires directly... Maybe the CAN HS BUS doesn't like this method...

- Screen is "upside down" : that's not really an issue, I know this is because the configuration file has not been downloaded... Hope everything will be fine with a right telecode procedure...

- The "biiiiip" sound of incorrect VIN is quickly very upseting... Again hope Diagbox will resolve that.

I will try to connect the 11 and 14 touchscreen wires correctly... For the moment it's just shit hand-made solution, not even soldered... Hope this will fix the problem.

How can you be sure it's a CAN204 SMEG+ IV2 version ?

If i take a picture of the label in front of my head unit, would you be able to confirm ?

If it's true I have a CAN2004 version, I'm fucked and very disappointed . And my car is a living battlefield/testing laboratory at the moment... So I have to take a quick decision.

I'm stuck between 2 options :

- buying a regular RD45 L5 from a Peugeot 508 to get USB, bluetooth and DAB radio on my current configuration (the easiest way !!!)

- buying a navigation or a non-navigation version of the Citroen Connect Nav (Continental NAC WAVE2) and try to implement it in my car... Which is now inserted in the European Citroen C4 since April 2017. Problems : expensive, need a lot of new things (cables, connectors, pinout of the headunit), don't know a lot of informations (plug-in, telecoding procedure...), and of course I don't have the support and the experience from you guys (drive2.ru citroen-c4 and sedan.ru)

 

In every case, thank you for your help frog2050, I appreciate it. And in a general way, congratulation on all the fantastic investigations and the work you did on this car (Pavel, Josser, you)... No one in Europe was able to go so far...

I was planning to go 6.1.xxx first (6.1D.R8 or 6.1.d.r20) because I need to activate Carplay and 6.3 needs a mandatory recalibration.
